Executive Director of the French Albanian NGO, ARGJIRO.
Born on 1975 in
Tirana,
Albania. She graduated in
Paris from the Institut
de Langues et de Civilisations Orientales (INALCO) in 2000 and from the
Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris in 2001. She is founder and director of
the French Albanian NGO, ARGJIRO, since 2006, organization which aims to
establish and develop international cultural exchanges and building bridges of
cultural dialogue between
Albania,
Kosovo, the South Eastern Europe and
Mediterranean
countries. Ilda Mara started her career in
Paris
in 1997 at the French weekly Courier International, as a journalist responsible
for
Albania, Kosovo and
Macedonia,
where she worked until 2008. She has served as a consultant for UNESCO from 2002
to 2006, for projects in Asia, Africa and
Caribbean.
She continues to collaborate with the French quarterly Politique
Internationale.
