NATIONAL FILMS SCREENED IN DOKUFEST

The activities that took place in the sixth day of the festival opened with the two day workshop: Balkan Documentary Centre Module in Prizren (BDC). During the workshop, the American film maker Doug Block also a member of the international documentary competition jury and the director of the film The Kids Grow up gave a lecture related to his experience as an author of documentary films.

BDC is holding the second modulation of the workshop which primarily took place in Sofia with the same structure of participants. On the today’s workshop, the widely acclaimed s Finnish filmmaker  Visa Koiso Kantila will give a master-class.

Last night’s film program was conducted by short films which were screened in the Fortress Cinema, six documentary films which were screened in Kino Bahçe and Riverbed Cinema, also documentary films from Turkey within the special program DokumentarIst.

Today, starting at 2pm, short films by the famous Philippines film director Khavn de la Cruz where shown in Kino Lumbardhi . The program will continue with films from View from the World, Made in Finland, Europe Next Door and Spotlight: Afghanistan special program.

 Kino Bahçe will host films from the national competition. At 20:15 the premiere of the short film by Kosovar film director Burbuqe Berisha which competes in the shorts category will be screened. This short film will be followed by the animation by Albanian author  Shaqir Veseli called Tsunami. This year’s edition of DokuFest has gathered 15 films from Kosova and Albania, among which one was screened within the special program Europe Next Door, 11 compile the national competition and two compete in the short films category.
