THE STRAVINSKY PORTRAIT- a tribute to Richard Leacock

DokuFest will pay a tribute to film director and cinematographer Richard Leacock, with a special screening of his film THE STRAVINSKY PORTRAIT. British filmmaker Leacock, who helped create the documentary film movement known as direct camera or cinéma vérité and who created some of the most innovative documentaries of the 1960’s, died on March this year at the age of 89.

Leacock’s documentary THE STRAVINSKY PORTRAT (1966) will be screened on the 25th of July .This documentary follows world famous composer Igor Stavinsky at his home in California, in London, and in Hamburg where he conducts an orchestra rehearsal. It includes conversations with a variety of friends and musical collaborators.
